Business & Commercial Law

If you have come to this page – you are serious! Commercial Conveyancing encompasses a number of areas of law such as securities, companies, businesses, shareholders and directors and leasing etc. It is a specialised area because of the many compliance requirements within the Companies Act, Securities Act, Contract law, Resource Management Act etc.

We have attended to business matters for various types of client needs such as farms, bee hives, truck companies, distribution companies, landlords, cafes, shoe shops, tenants, services stations and your local superette. Each situation is unique as each business and its requirements may need different structures, set-ups (as between shareholders) and tax considerations.

We have found in the past that a "team" effort is what is required. The team being you, your accountant, us as legal advisors and in some cases other specialists such as Engineers. For us, the team makes suggestions of structure, sale, rules/regulations etc all based on the client's requirements.

J K Law - Lawyers of Hamilton Ltd - Business Law

It is essential that the team is involved from the beginning because as is often the case, one format or idea can often impact greatly on another area of your business. Is is necessary for the structure and set up to cover all areas of your business effectively both in cost and time. It is this team which should follow you and your business from inception to ensure continuity of information and history.

That said, its not too late. You can contact us at any time to discuss your current requirements and whether those requirements fit with your current systems and structures.

A number of client's we have acted for in their business arrangements have this to say:

"I have used Kathryn Walker of K J Law over the last 10 years for private and business matters – I find them to be fantastic lawyers company with great result – Without hesitation I would recommend them for all your legal needs."
